About the practice
Meet Angelica Valentin.
LPC, NCC, ADHD-CCSP. A small, intentionally unhurried telehealth practice for adolescents and adults across Pennsylvania.

Hello & welcome
“I believe healing begins the moment you no longer have to pretend you’re okay.”
If you’ve spent years holding everything together for everyone else, you may not even remember what it feels like to slow down. On the outside, people see someone capable, dependable, and successful. Inside, you might feel exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or like you’re constantly striving for a version of yourself that never feels “good enough.”
That’s where I come in.
I’m Angelica Valentin, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I founded Grounded In Truth Collective because I wanted to create the kind of therapy space I believe everyone deserves: one where you don’t have to earn compassion, prove your pain, or have all the answers before you walk through the door.
My approach is rooted in authenticity, curiosity, and deep respect for each person’s story. Together, we’ll look beyond symptoms to understand the experiences, relationships, and beliefs that shaped them. Healing isn’t about fixing who you are. It’s about reconnecting with who you’ve always been.
My Background
I earned my master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based, trauma-informed care.
Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working across multiple levels of care, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and clinical leadership. I’ve helped build treatment programs from the ground up, supervised multidisciplinary teams, and supported individuals navigating some of life’s most difficult seasons.
My areas of specialty include:
- Anxiety
- Burnout and chronic stress
- Perfectionism
- Women's mental health
- ADHD in adults/adolescents
- Body image and disordered eating
- Life transitions
- Self-worth and identity
- Relationship concerns
I have extensive experience helping clients who look like they’re managing everything on the outside while quietly struggling on the inside.
Beyond the Therapy Room
While being a therapist is one of the greatest honors of my life, it’s only one part of who I am.
I’m also a wife and a mom of four amazing children who continually remind me that growth, patience, and grace are lifelong practices.
Our home is usually full of life thanks to our energetic dog, Loki, and our curious kitten, Artemis. If you ask me about them, there’s a good chance I’ll smile before I answer.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me hiking local trails, tending to my garden, dreaming up new landscaping projects, reading with a cup of coffee nearby, or simply spending time outdoors. I find peace in growing things, whether it’s flowers, vegetables, or people discovering parts of themselves they’ve forgotten.
These experiences keep me grounded and remind me daily that healing, like nature, doesn’t happen all at once. It happens one small, intentional step at a time.
My Hope for You
My hope is that therapy becomes more than a place where you cope.
I hope it becomes a place where you finally exhale.
Where perfection gives way to authenticity.
Where survival becomes living.
Where you leave each session feeling a little more connected to yourself than when you arrived.
Because I believe the most meaningful change doesn’t come from becoming someone new. It comes from becoming grounded in the truth of who you’ve been all along.
Approach & values
What “grounded in truth” means
The name is the method. Growth happens when we can look honestly at what’s real, gently and together, and build from there.
Warm, but honest
Real change needs a space that's kind and truthful at the same time. We name what's hard without judgment.
Person first
You're a whole person here, not a diagnosis. We start from who you are and what you actually want.
Practical
We don't just talk. We build skills and language you can use in the moments that matter between sessions.
Credentials & training
Quiet proof of expertise
A member of the American Counseling Association, American Psychological Association, Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
What to expect
A first session, without the pressure
We start with a free fifteen-minute consult to see if we’re a good fit. If it feels right, the first full session is simply a conversation about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and how we’ll work toward it. No forms to perform, no judgment, and no obligation to continue.
